CERT coordination may be initiated by: - CERT leadership request - Active incident with degraded comms - Pre-planned exercises

CERT Liaison Node

  • Acts as mesh contact point
  • Relays summaries, not raw chatter
  • Maintains situational awareness

Mesh Operators

  • Provide infrastructure
  • Avoid interfering with CERT operations
  • Follow emergency channel discipline

Preferred message types: - Status summaries - Location-neutral updates - Resource needs - Safety notices

Avoid: - Individual medical details - Names unless necessary - Tactical speculation

CERT coordination may be tested during: - Tabletop drills - Severe weather exercises - Planned outages

All exercises should be clearly announced.
