CERT Coordination Procedures¶
JTXMesh
These procedures define how JTXMesh supports CERT and local response groups.
Relationship¶
JTXMesh:
- Supports CERT communications
- Does not command or replace CERT
- Acts as a supplemental tool
Activation¶
CERT coordination may be initiated by:
- CERT leadership request
- Active incident with degraded comms
- Pre-planned exercises
Roles¶
CERT Liaison Node¶
- Acts as mesh contact point
- Relays summaries, not raw chatter
- Maintains situational awareness
Mesh Operators¶
- Provide infrastructure
- Avoid interfering with CERT operations
- Follow emergency channel discipline
Information Flow¶
Preferred message types:
- Status summaries
- Location-neutral updates
- Resource needs
- Safety notices
Avoid:
- Individual medical details
- Names unless necessary
- Tactical speculation
Exercises¶
CERT coordination may be tested during:
- Tabletop drills
- Severe weather exercises
- Planned outages
All exercises should be clearly announced.
